SEWING EXPERIENCE

Students must have taken Introduction to Sewing, or have sewn on a sewing machine before and feel proficient in how to use a sewing machine.*

MULTIPLE CLASSES

Students may sign up for multiple classes if you would like.

Spring Weekly Student Choice

Students will come to their weekly one hour class. Classes will run from the Beginning of January to the End of April

Students can choose from any of the projects that I have taught or bring their own pattern/instructions for a project of their choice. I have a catalog of projects that they can view to pick projects.

This is an intermediate-level class. Students will need to have taken at least Introduction to Sewing from me to sign up for this class to be sure that they are proficient with the sewing machine.

I will guide each student through the project of their choice and they will work at their own pace. When they have completed their current project, they will then choose their next project. The student will provide the pattern/instructions as well as supplies.

I will provide thread.

We have 4 Class Date Options:

  • Class 1: Tuesdays 4:00 – 5:00 PM. (January, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, February 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, March  11th, 18th, 25th and April 1st, 15th, 22nd, 29th)
  • Class 2: Tuesdays 5:15 – 6:15 PM. (January, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, February 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, March 11th, 18th, 25th and April 1st, 15th, 22nd, 29th)
  • Class 3: Wednesdays 4:00 – 5:00 PM. (January, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, March  12th, 19th, 26th and April 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 30th)
  • Class 4: Wednesdays 5:15 – 6:15 PM. (January, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, March  12th, 19th, 26th and April 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 30th)
  • Class 5: Thursdays 4:00 – 5:00 PM (January, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, March 13th, 20th, 27th and April 3rd, 17th, 24th, May 1st)

Cost: Average of $72/ month ($18/ lesson – Some Months may have 4 lessons, some may have less, you will only be charged for the number of lessons your class has that month)

Christmas Gift Workshop 2024

This two-hour workshop is a chance for students to put their sewing skills to work. Students will have the full time to work on whatever projects they choose (from the list below), and can sew as many items as they have time for. All fabric, notions, supplies and gift wrapping will be provided. They will come home with wrapped gifts ready for giving.

 

Students must know how to sew OR have taken lessons from me.

The Workshops are a one day class that will be held the following days:

Cost for the Christmas Gift Workshop is $45.

This is an intermediate level class. Students will get to choose from the 4 options which bag they would like to make. The options are:

Students will need to get their own supplies and drop them off one week prior. I will precut each bag and have it ready to sew the first day.

After all four lessons, students will have practiced the following skills: create pockets, insert zippers, box corners, lining, straps/handles, etc.

Students will supply all fabric and other supplies. I can send a list after your student has decided on their chosen project.

Patchwork Skirt

This is an intermediate level class. Students will complete the following:

  • Day 1: Design and piece patchwork pockets
  • Day 2: Sew Pockets and Begin Skirt Construction
  • Day 3: Finish Skirt

After all three lessons, students will have practiced the following skills: patchwork skills, do body measurement, finish seams, create a hem, create a waistband, create pocket. 

Student will provide skirt fabric. All notions, elastic and thread provided.

Sleepover Set

This is an intermediate level class. In this class students will create a pair of pajama pants, a pillowcase and a sleep mask. This pattern allows for all sizes. Students will complete the following:

  • Day 1: Cut out Pajama Pants and Sleep Mask. Begin Sewing
  • Day 2: Begin Sewing Pj Pants
  • Day 3: Finish Pj Pants
  • Day 4: Sew Pillow Case

After all four lessons, students will have practiced the following skills: read a pattern, cut out a pattern, do body measurement, finish seams, french seams,  create a hem, elastic waist.

Student will provide all fabric. I will provide all notions, thread and elastics.
